// OFFLINE BY DESIGN
Your own library and AI.
Sealed in a case. Ready when the grid isn't.
BunkerBox is a complete, self-powered field computer: a Raspberry Pi 5, its own screen, two dedicated batteries, a curated reference library and a local AI that answers questions from it — no cell tower, no Wi-Fi, no cloud account.
- No internet required
- Battery powered
- Rugged waterproof hard case
What's in the box
Everything ships together. Open the latches and you're running.

Raspberry Pi 5
The computer at the core.
Display
Built into the kit so you don't need a phone or laptop. 10" touchscreen.
Two batteries
One powers the Pi, one powers the screen — so neither drains the other. Up to 10 hours of runtime. Recharge from a wall charger or solar.
Rugged hard case
A rugged, latching hard case that carries and protects the whole system.
Offline library
Roughly 1 million of the top Wikipedia articles, public-domain books from Project Gutenberg, and openly licensed textbooks — all stored on the device.
Built-in local AI assistant
Runs on the Pi itself and searches the library to answer your questions.
How the offline AI works
Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), entirely on the device.
- 01
You ask
Type a plain-language question on the BunkerBox screen.
- 02
It searches
The system looks through the onboard library for the most relevant passages.
- 03
It answers
The built-in local AI assistant writes an answer grounded in those passages and points you to the source.
- 04
Nothing leaves
No data goes anywhere. There is no connection to send it over.
Straight talk: a small local model is slower than cloud AI and can make mistakes. Check the cited source for anything critical, and it is not a substitute for a doctor or emergency services.
Built for when you're on your own
Power outages
Storms and grid failures — keep reference info and a working assistant on battery.
Remote work & travel
Ranches, hunting camps, boats, job sites and anywhere without coverage.
First aid reference
Look up treatment steps fast when help is far away.
Household preparedness
A grab-and-go knowledge kit that sits next to your water and food stores.
Repairs & homesteading
Water, food preservation, gardening and fixing what breaks.
Privacy
Ask anything. Your questions never touch a server.
Faraday-shielded case option
Upgrade to the Faraday-shielded case for $100 more, for buyers who want an added shielding layer around the electronics while the kit is stored.
The kit stores inside a Faraday-shielded case when the lid is closed. Questions? Use the contact form.
Pricing
One complete kit. One optional upgrade.

FAQ
Does it need the internet at all?
No. The library and the AI run entirely on the device.
How long do the batteries last?
Up to 10 hours on a full charge.
How do I recharge it?
From a wall charger, or from solar when the grid is down.
What's in the library?
Roughly 1 million of the top Wikipedia articles, public-domain books from Project Gutenberg, and openly licensed textbooks.
Is the AI always right?
No. The built-in local AI assistant runs offline and can be wrong. It shows its sources so you can verify, and it doesn't replace professional medical care.
When will my order ship?
Orders are confirmed by email with an estimated ship date.
